This extended 53km loop takes you deep into the countryside, following ancient pilgrimage paths and dramatic valley floors, with the "Cave Village" of Setenil de las Bodegas as your spectacular halfway point.
With 900m of total ascent, this route is the perfect showcase for our quality E-bikes. You’ll power up mountain ridges with ease, leaving you with plenty of energy to enjoy the views and explore the rock-carved streets of Setenil.

1. The Pilgrimage Path (The Outbound)
Starting in Ronda, you’ll head north to intercept the Camino de Santiago (Vía Serrana). This historic route offers a sense of total isolation and rugged beauty as you traverse the rolling hills toward Setenil. The E-bike’s power is essential here, helping you maintain a steady pace across the undulating terrain.
2. Cycling Through the Caves
Unlike our shorter tour, this route takes you right through the heart of Setenil de las Bodegas. You will cycle under the famous overhanging cliffs of Calle Cuevas del Sol, experiencing the town’s unique atmosphere from the saddle before stopping for a well-earned lunch in the "shadow of the rock."
3. The Countryside Return
Leaving Setenil, the route winds back toward Ronda via a different southern path. You’ll cycle through open farmland and oak forests, enjoying a long, scenic ascent with panoramic views of the Ronda plateau and the Sierra de Grazalema in the distance.

This is a self-guided bicycle ride using mobile or GPS navigation.
This is not a private experience, so you may have others participating in the activity, but you have the freedom to cycle in your own group.
Once you meet your guide at the agreed meeting point, they will set you up with all the equipment you need. Once you are ready to go, you will cycle 53km from the start point in Ronda and finish in the same location. You will pass through the famous cave village of Setenil de las Bodegas just before the halfway mark.
Once you arrive in Setenil, you have as long as you like to explore the town, but it is advised to limit your time to no more than 2 hours, including lunch.
In order to avoid traffic as much as possible, this route uses a large section of gravel tracks and unpaved roads that are very popular with local cyclists. There are two important ascents along the route, the first on paved country roads near the start of the route, and the other on gravel tracks about halfway through.
The route is 53km (33 miles) and is a good mix of hilly and flat terrain. Moderate difficulty on an E-Bike, so it does require a moderate fitness level.

At White Village Tours, we handle the technical logistics, including bike maintenance, expert GPS route planning, and support vehicle coordination - so you can focus entirely on the ride. To ensure your comfort and safety in the Andalusian countryside, please arrive prepared with the following:
1. Clothing & Footwear.
Ride Comfort: Wear comfortable, moisture-wicking sportswear. While professional padded cycling shorts are not strictly required for our E-bike tours, they are highly recommended for maximum comfort.
Footwear: Sturdy, closed-toe trainers or sports shoes are essential. Please avoid flip-flops, sandals, or loose footwear.
Layers: Temperatures in the Serranía de Ronda can vary between the valley floors and mountain passes. We recommend bringing a light windbreaker or gilet for morning starts and long descents.
2. Sun & Element Protection.
The Spanish sun is powerful year-round. Please bring high-factor sunscreen/suncream and a pair of sunglasses to protect against UV rays and dust.
A small day-pack is useful for carrying personal items, a camera, or a light jacket.
3. Fuel & Hydration
Nutrition: We strongly recommend eating a healthy, energy-rich breakfast before your tour begins.
Hydration: All our bikes are fitted with bottle cages and bottle water, but extra water is always recommended.
4. The Essentials:
Ensure your mobile phone is fully charged for navigation and photos.
Bring a small amount of cash or a card for coffee stops or souvenirs in the white villages.
Most importantly: Bring a sense of adventure, we’ve taken care of the rest!
Our Focus and Kalkhoff Premium E-Bikes are powered by powerful Bosch motors, Shimano gearing and hydraulic disc brakes. Ideal for tackling steep climbs and adding a little comfort to you expereince.
We classify this as 'Moderate.' While the 53km distance and 900m ascent are significant, the E-bike motor compensates for the hills. It is perfect for active travelers who want a full day of exploration without the exhaustion of a standard bike.

Our Focus Jarifa 6.6 E-bikes use high-capacity Bosch batteries. Even with 900m of climbing, the battery has more than enough range to complete the 53km loop comfortably, provided you use the assist modes appropriately.
