The Rio Guadiaro route is legendary for its views, but its three significant mountain climbs can be a challenge. Our E-bike version transforms this "Moderate/Challenging" ride into a scenic mountain cruise. You’ll enjoy the 1,200m of descent and power up the 1000m ascents with ease, leaving you with plenty of energy to explore the villages along the way.
Equipped with our Bosch-powered E-bikes, you’ll journey from the high village of Atajate down into the river valley, visiting hidden gems like Jimera de Líbar and Montejaque before finishing under Ronda's famous bridge.
Highlights:
Distance: 40km (25 miles).
Ascent: 998m (Neutralised by high-torque E-assist).
Descent: 1,270m (Long, sweeping mountain hairpins).
Route: Atajate → Jimera de Líbar → Benaoján → Montejaque → Cueva del Gato → Ronda.
The Highlight: Effortlessly scaling the Cat 3 climb out of the valley to see the epic vistas above Benaoján

This is a self-guided tour with a support van included.
1. The High Start: Atajate.
We drive you to Atajate, the highest village in the Serranía. The tour begins with 11km of pure downhill bliss on curvy mountain roads, descending from the peaks right down to the banks of the Guadiaro River.
2. The Riverside Villages
Following the river, you’ll pass through Jimera de Líbar and Benaoján. On a standard bike, the climb between these villages is where the work starts, but on your E-bike, you’ll glide up the 300m gain while soaking in the spectacular limestone valley views.
3. Montejaque & The Hidden Plaza:
A short, powered ascent takes you into Montejaque. We recommend a stop in the beautiful Plaza de la Constitución for a drink among the locals before enjoying a 5km descent toward the valley floor.
4. Cueva del Gato (The Cat Cave)
The route leads you to the Cueva del Gato, a natural monument where a crystal-clear river emerges from a massive cave system into an emerald-green lagoon. It’s an essential photo stop (and a perfect place for a quick swim).
5. The Grand Finale: Climbing into Ronda.
The final leg is an undulating road that leads to the base of Ronda’s cliffs. You’ll use your E-bikes to effortlessly scale the final climb into the Barrio San Francisco, finishing with world-class views of the Puente Nuevo.
Premium electric bicycle rental, helmets, GPS and a bottle of water.
The group will be supplied with a basic repair kit as standard.
Full Support: Back-up van assistance is just a call away.

1. Clothing & Footwear.
